I started writing poetry at 13 years old, for my girlfriend at the time. I won the first competition I entered (for Drug Free Week) and by 17 I had written my 100th poem. And that summer, my family's house burned down and we lost everything. Everythang? Everythang... lol. Most important for me, even though I lost everything that showed my promise as a child, I lost all my poetry. A year later, I went digging thru the remains of the fire and found about 70 of the 100 poems. And from that point on, I kept them in my backpack. Then, my backpack was stolen, holding half of my remaining poems. At that time, I'd started reading my newer poetry in The Mocha Room poetry readings at Southern University where I gained so much knowledge and inspiration from the friends I had there, and I've been on fire since then. Once I realized I could take it to another level, I started working on an actual style and I continue to do so today. As I continue to write, my inspiration comes from the women who have traveled thru the chapters of my life, as I only write about love in it's forms. Love gone bad, Looking for love, Making Love, Always and forever love, Never Love, Bedroom loving, Public places loving, Anytime physical and xxx rated loving. My poetry has brought me many places and through many things. Sometimes the best advice you can get comes from yourself. Enjoy my words. Poetry is Everything. It's true love that will never let you down because it's what's in your heart. It's what I wake up with, it's what I go to sleep with. It's what carries me thru my day and has made so many of my days beautiful. It's my Gift from God to show me I'm one of His favorite children... Thank You.
